Tomorrow
The Great Blue Herons
Are coming to fetch me
Carry me in my bedsheet
Like storks delivering a baby
They will fly me
Into the deep swamps
Gently set me down
On a beach by a river
All the birds will come
And serenade me as I lie
Under the blue sky
And white clouds
Dappled sunshine
Caressing my body
The wind will come
And sing a song
In the trees
Soothe
My fevered brow
With gentle kisses
Eventually the Sun
Will call it a day
Don its bedclothes
Of red and gold
The herons
Will again gather me up
Wing me home
Leave me
Refreshed and healed
Warmed by Nature's love
To pass into slumber
And dreams of flying
Among the stars
